hey guys, my web designer friend is on holidays and im working on a new site. I need to make some quick temporary images for a site/pages.

I know Corel ok, but when i publish the graphic files as JPG's they look funny, colors, distorted a little.

Is there an easy way to do this ?

thanks in advance. :)

OK, I don't have CD9. I'm using X3, but maybe it's the same.
There are probably better suggestions, but here's what I do.

File/Export/

Change save as type to JPG and click Export

The Convert to bitmap box pops up and I put a check in maintain aspect ratio and original size. Color Mode RGB. Click OK

The JPG Export box pops up.
I check Optimize. Lower the compression and smoothing down to 10 and change the Sub Format to 4:4:4 Click OK

This may not give you the smallest file size, but it does keep the picture nice.

It's a slightly different method in Corel Photo Paint.

The easiest way to do this is simply take a screen shot of your desktop using the printscreen key, then open a graphics program like PSP or even MSpaint, and paste it in there and crop it to the right size. Then your graphic is guarunteed to look exactly the way it does in corel, which isnt always the case if you export it or convert it.

On most keyboards its on the same row as all the F1, F2, F3, etc keys. The key says "PrtScn", you just hit it and it takes a "picture" of whatever your monitor is displaying and puts it in the clipboard for use with the "paste" command.
