Hello everyone, I just purchased a heat press and also purchaced an epson expression premium xp-810, now is this printer good enough for heat transfers. and if so what heat transfers work well with this. any info will be trully helpfull being that a am completly new to all of this. Even 3 year old model I had worked for heat transfer. Only issue I don't like with inkjet printer is it clogs. Had wasted four inkjet printers due to clogging and other issues.

The forum favorite is Jetpro Softstretch by Neenah. It is available from forum preferred vendors. Make sure to check discount offer for members. Some vendors offer free shipping on top discount.

Just make sure you use pigment (Epson's Durabrite) ink otherwise the ink will run and bleed.

Actjually he needs third party pigment ink for heat transfer. Otherwise, he will have color shift problem using OEM pigment ink. Cobraink and Injetcarts sell refillable cartridge and heat transfer pigment ink.

Very Helpful information guys, now again excuse me if I sound dum but I've seen inks and kits selling on ebay are these good or is there anything specific as in brand options in order to make good quality transfers? Thanks a lot fellas!!

I meant to say that but it just didn't come out. What I was trying to say is that Epson has 2 ink types the dye and the pigment and he wants a printer that uses pigment ink.

I use the refillable ink carts and ink from Cobra. It's so much easier than using the OEM inks, and cheaper too.

You have to buy from vendors that have track records like Inkjetcarts and Cobraink. Their products are proven to work. You might get pigment inks that are not meant for heat transfer and the color will shift when heat is applied.
