Hello,
My name is Ed and I am new to the forum. I can already see that it contains a wealth of information provided by well-informed and helpful people.

My current printer is an HP 1220c, the results on t-shirts are good but they do fade after repeated washing. I plan to switch to the TransJet II transfer paper and would like to use the Magic Mix Ink.

Is there any hope for this using an HP1220c or should I get an Epson.

Thanks

Well, to be more specific... you will not be able to use the Magic Mix inks with an HP printer, because they are pigmented inks and all HP printers (as far as I know) are dye-based (So you will need to switch to an Epson to use them). I personally think any kind of ink bleeding implies an inferior product and doesn't look good to customers at all, even if you explain. If you do choose to go this route, you might consider pre-washing all shirts you make to get rid of that first 'run through'.
