Hi everyone!

I am still at the hobby stage. I am not interested in the business part…yet. I found this forum while trying to find reviews on heat presses. I want one for doing presents and for school/team items for my children. I thought it would be simple but after reading some posts, I realize I need to do a lot more research.

I have been creating designs and printing them on my inkjet and taking them to a local t-shirt shop for printing for several years. However they now want $10 per shirt. So it will be more cost effective to get my own press. Does the type of heat press limit what kind of transfers/processes you can use?

Who knows this my be a way for me to get out of IT and put all of those years of art classes to a better use than throwing elaborate birthday parties.

Cheryl, you should get a heat press and if you have the right quantities use Plastisol for your transfer then you have the best of both worlds.

I think with all commercially available heat presses, you can print both transfers printed from your computer and plastisol (screen printed) transfers that you would outsource to a screen printer.
