Hello, everybody. Nice to be here!

I'm retiring soon and am here getting a head start on my new life, so to speak. I've looked forward to spending my days the way I WANT to spend them for a very long time. I can do art all I want whenever I want, and I can pursue my other interests without having to consider a schedule.

There is sooo much information online about the custom t-shirt business, and much of it is contradictory. Many hours are wasted trying to navigate various websites that aren't intuitive to me. OR, maybe I'm just too old to figure it out. Someone, I hope, will agree with me that it can be quite frustrating much of the time-- this would put my mind at ease.

Anyway, I'm happy to be here and I hope we can all help each other.

Carry on...

Hi Sky. I'm from the UK myself and retired too. I agree with you that confusion reigns when trying to get a handle on this whole business.

I don't do much in the way of t-shirts, but I do lots of sublimation printing on all kinds of items which I sell on ebay and at local craft fairs. I also use htv and sign vinyl at times.

Even though retired, I sometimes find there aren't enough hours in the day!

Good luck. Your perseverance will pay off, believe me.

Welcome to the forums ShyBlue :)
Thank you, Webtrekker, I do feel a bit better. How long have you been doing your "craft," and is it related to what you did prior to your retirement?

Just been doing this for about 4 years now, so still learning. Before that I had various jobs completely unrelated to printing, the last one bring a delivery driver. However, I've been nuts on computers for many years and well into Photoshop and 3D design and rendering software such as Rhino, KeyShot, etc.

I started with a cutter before progressing to htv and sublimation. I had quite a good run for a while selling packs of personalised magnetic party invitations that the recipients could stick on their fridge or microwave to remind them of the event, printed and contour cut from printable magnetic sheets.

Currently, I'm doing sublimated clocks on aluminium sheets.
