My wife has been getting quite interested in HVT. She has a cricut machine and has been struggling with an iron. We have been researching heat presses and are trying to learn more before buying one. Just wanted to say hello to all!

if you find something you are interested in post it in the heat press sub-section,
and see what others think before you buy
one thing to look for is the actual place you buy it from (unless you buy used),
are they stand-up/stand-behind? are they willing to help when needed?

Welcome . First off , i wouldnt rely on that cricut to long,unreliable and limited to sizes you can make and its a web based cutter as well. I played with a cricut for a very short time but my ex used it all the time for making cards and anything beyond that it wasnt very good....Without internet you cant use it ... And for doing htv you need accurate heat and Exact constant pressure, You will never get that with an iron. I recently bought a hotronix fusion from stahls.com and its amazing . Pressure and temp is very very important. If you have any questions send me a message and am willing to chat on the phone as well.
