Hello from Colorado

I am just getting started working in the graphic design end of a t-shirt printing. I have designed shirts and worked with computer graphics in the past but have no formal training. I live in the Denver, CO area and I enjoy anything that has artistic twist.

I have the opportunity to work on some artwork that will be sent to me by a local company which then needs to be transferred to screens.

My job is to work with the on line file and prepare the screens for the local shirt printing company.

  • I would like to know how much computer I need (memory, processing speed, etc...)
  • which design programs are best for doing this kind of work (illustrator or something else)
  • what type of printer will be best for the process.
  • I would also like to know if anyone can reccomend a book that is a good all around resorce for someone in my position.
Thanks for your help, and I look forwarding to getting to know you.
