Hi. new member here, so I thought I would introduce myself.

My name is Chris and about a year and a half ago, I was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease. After becoming disabled, I found myself with a lot of time on my hands. I had always wanted to try screen printing, so what better time to start.

I started with a home built wooden 4 color press and a starter package from Ryonet, but quickly upgraded to a 6 color, 2 station silver press. (Man, this stuff can be pricey!)

I decided to start a little business annd have stayed quite busy through word of mouth. Here is my logo..

I look forward to getting to know you all and gaining as much knowledge as I can from these great forums!

Hello Chris, good to hear from you. You can't keep a good man down. I guess when you get over the initial shock of the diagnosis you can either lie on the bed and stare at the ceiling or get on with doing something. I get a lot out of screenprinting and the challenges it brings. I don't do it primarily for money - I am very lucky to have a good job with lots of time off. If screenprinting didn't challenge me I probably wouldn't do it. I'm quite addicted to the whole process of creating designs and making them appear on things people can wear. I hope it is bringing you as much enjoyment as it does myself.
