Hi, I am new from Texas. My daughters and I have a new heat press. We have made several t-shirts, that is transfers on burnout shirts with rhinestone transfers on top. Some of the rhinestones are coming off after wash? Any suggestions. Thank you.

Could be one of two problems or perhaps both... first thing might be you did not use enough heat/pressure to permanantly adhere the stones. Secondly might be what type of transfer you are trying to adhere the rhinestones to... i am asuming you are using hotfix stones? if it is a vinyl transfer or something similar the glue is not going to "set" correctly on that type of surface, you would need to have holes in the transfer where the stones are going so they would make direct contact with the material.

Since burnout shirts themselves can be a little problematic due to the fact that there is not a lot of fabric in some places, getting rhinestones to adhere can be tricky. Are you sure the press is at the right temp? I don't mean the readout, I mean is the platen the right temp. Either get a heat test kit from a supplier or get one of those guns from the auto store that measures heat. If the platen is not the right temp, then you may not be melting the glue. What kind of transfer are you putting on the shirt? That can have bearing.
