Hi, just got a Hix Swingman 15 x 15. It is a bit heavier than I thought it would be. Does anyone think a sturdy folding table might hold it? Or, does anyone have any good but inexpensive ideas. I cant take it out of the box so far because I have no-where to put it.
thank you for any ideas.

I have the Swingman 12 x 12 and that one 'bout killed me getting it out of the box and carrying it to the other end of the house, down 3 steps and back up another 3 steps. Whew. Anyhow I ended up digging out my old dining room table that I had moved to the garage for delivery to the curb and put it in the family room and put the press on that. My folding tables weren't strong enough to hold them. People have asked me why I don't do this at school events. It's because I can't lift these presses. Too bad they can't come up with a lightweight press that would actually work for those of us who just don't have the physical strength to lift these heavy presses.

I use a mechanics cart that I bought at Harbor Freight....it is very sturdy...I have two presses on it. I did craft shows and we used this for transporting to the show. It has two pull out drawers for inventory...I keep my teflon sheets, etc in the top drawer. We covered it on 3 sides with peg board so I could use that area for display. Works out great!

That's a very good idea, I wish I had thought of it. But since I didn't, I'm just going to imitate it! LOL Thanks for sharing!

We travel with our press .. I used to lift that 70 lb 15x15 in and out of my van and onto my foldaway table the first couple of years. My son came to work the business with me, so thankfully, I only have to do it on occasion now.

Recently purchased a nice craftsman on wheels and, wow, how exciting! (We couldn't do it before because it wouldn't have fit in the van.)

There are like 50 different models of mechanics tables !! Do some shopping. We did check on the one at Harbor Freight, but ended up getting a much better one at Sears (on sale) for just $30 more. (Of course, they have them from $60-$600+)

You forgot to mention the cats walking around you while you carrying the heat press :D:D:D

I don't know how you guys had your presses delivered but mine came in a wooded crate. I opened my crate from the top, took the press out and put the top back on. That is my stand for my press. It is heavy duty (I know because I got angry and kicked it one time haha it didnt even leave a mark) If you have a crate that it came in, that is perfect for a stand.

Thank you everyone. All the ideas are great and much appreciated. If I get a tool stand from Sear's or somewhere, do I have to worry if the top is wood due to heat from the press?

No, you can put them on a wood top. I put mine on a plastic folding 2'x5' table when doing events.

Good Luck!

Not sure if you have your answer or not but I have 2 presses and I also searched forever for a stand. I'm 5" and my son is 6'3 so it was difficult to find something that worked for both of us. I finally found a small metal cart at office max that is adjustable and has locking wheels. It works out great becasue I have my favorite press on my stand and my son has the swing away on the other adjusted to his height. Also it is light weight so when we have to move it (other than taking off the press to transport out of the shop) it's great. If I need to move them around the shop I just unlock the wheels and move it all over. Hope this helps, I do not remember the name of the cart if I can find something on it I will post it.
