Pls friends I need help, firstly I'm a newbie, I just bought a new china heatpress. I used a forever classic for white fabric on a friends tee, I didn't use a laser printer, I used a direct imaging color printer on a laser transfer paper and the final product was bad after heating, I followed the instructions on the transfer paper which was 200 Celsius for 10secs and paper sticked to the shirt, I reduced the heat to 180 for 15secs and the transfer wasn't too good also, I assumed the heat on the "platens" wasn't rational but I did another transfer that came out semi good, I did a transfer lately and it sucked, I used 185Celsius, pls whrs my problem frm folks, ur help is needed, my transfer's aren't good, the paper don't peel off well too, pls:confused:

What is a China heat press? To do quality t-shirt transfers, you need quality products. Are you using inkjet or laser printer? Pick 1 or the other & use the proper transfer paper for the type of printer as well as the proper ink required for t-shirts. Also, a cheap press can be a major issue. From what you've written, it could be either or all causing the problems. I deal in far. not Celsius so I don't know your temp. In far, it should be 350-375 for 30 sec depending on the paper.

Tell us how the transfer turned out, did it transfer to the T-shirt?

In order to help you, you need to give more information. What brand of printer are you using and what type of inks? What brand of transfer paper? More information on you heat press you be helpful also.

From what it sounds like your telling us, you are using an inkjet printer but are trying to use laser transfer paper. If that the case, it will not work.

Thank you very much friends, I did another transfer after multiple failures, I found out that the pressure on the press wasn't enough.

Details: I've been using the FOREVER ClASSIC LASER PAPER for white garment, I also increased the temp to 190C which is apprx 3746Far. with high pressure and it came out good but not strong enough but none sticked to the paper, I've not been using a direct laser printer, the printer I used was a "Direct Imaging" Printer, it prints on anything.

Also The Prints on 100% cotton are different from 50/50 tshirts, which is advisable?

What is better is determined by using the proper paper, although, on light colored shirts, it shouldn't make a difference. I've always preferred 50/50 for transfers but not for the transfer quality. Little if any shrinkage, little if any ironing needed & dries faster than 100% cotton. To me, 50/50 is also cooler in hot weather. But that's just me. I would recommend using JPSS or Ironall for transfers; both quality papers.
