heat press on polyester

do i have to change the temp or anything to heat press a transfer onto 100% polyester shirts?

You should not have to change the heat. Just make sure the material that you are applying is suitable for the fabric.

Biggest to be careful of scorching. Some 100% poly shirts that are shiny will scorch from high heat.

Ed is right.
You don't have to change the heat setting for the film to apply it to Polyester. You might want to find out though, whether it's been sublimated by the manufacturer (unless it's white) in which case you may want to switch to a sublimation ink resistant film to prevent dye migration.
