Two weeks ago I ordered a HPN Signature 16x20 Auto-Open heat press (the auto-open feature is $50 extra). Last week it was delivered.

I carefully opened it up, set it up on a dedicated table, then started working with it. The slide-out drawer table was very tight, but worst of all the Auto-Open feature did not work. I reviewed all of the tech support videos available, tightened the pressure to very high (as suggested) but still no Auto -Open.

I emailed tech support. No response for two days. On 3rd day got an email response that said to watch the videos and increase the press pressure. Duh!

I complained (via email) for another two days and finally their "technician" named Marlon called and said to increase the pressure. Another duh! I was on the road at the time and said I would call him back at 3 PM his (California) time. I did. No answer. I called again. No answer. My final email to them this morning was rather curt. I will NOT deal with HPN ever again. I will get my equipment from someone more reliable, such as Conde or Coastal!

Please let me know if anyone else has had difficulties with HPN. Thanks.

Omg, I hate reading things like this. I just tryed one of those ebay $200 presses.

What I got was a toy that looks like a heat press. It's a 5 in 1 and one of the attachments (the main 11x15)
Didn't work.... The rest did. So here is the video of a 24 hour old machine.

https://youtu.be/4jvQsB2CHZ0

the first one is the T-shirt plate . Over heats set at 200 can go as high as 400 on its own.

I broke it down turned it into a cap press and then opened the plate to find the thermostat wires unattached to the plate and the whole thing is just cheap cast metal like dollar store tools.

It's called cheap china. It looks like the real thing but its not. It's a toy.

And I'm so scared HPN is just rebranded cheap china with tech support. They looks identical. All HPN presses look like the ebay heat presses. I never owned one but I really want the 16 x 20 swing it looks real nice.

HPN gets many good reviews I read allot about them and they boast about their reputation.

I hope you get treated fairly as long as you stay respectful. Remember that they don't want to loose you as a future customer. They want you to buy materials as well. I would think they are busy. Maybe record a video? Post it share it?

You could always Ship it back for $100 get some money back and call it quits.

I got $30 back on this $167 heat press.
To me thats worth the gamble I got a cap press out of it for $140~ . You win some you loose some.

Re: Heat Press Nation is not so TERRIBLE!

Update: After bugging Customer Service for a week, they finally got back to me and immediately agreed to send me a new press, and that they would take the bad press back courtesy of prepaid UPS pickup.

I may have been so mad at the time that I made a knee-jerk posting about them, as they are standing behind their equipment after all. Next month I will purchase a hat press and a mug press from them to give them a second chance.

Thank you HPN.

One week for customer service is to much in my opinion. If I run business I need fast support.24 hours is max for me. I am more like: picking a phone, talk to a support and I have solved one issue. Waiting is killing me.

But I am glad you happy with results.

Well I am glad to hear things seem to have worked out.
I just ordered the HPN Signature 16x20 Auto Open, and am looking forward to getting it.
I am doing this because I was looking to get started and so I ordered the Suncoo 5 in one swing away heat press from amazon.
WOW! What a hunk of junk. The heater is not solid at all and when you go to press the top acts like it's loose (even thought the screws are tight), and it's hard to get the press lined up with the transfer correctly.
I got disgusted with it, and have converted it into the hat press and will use it only for hat's and mugs (haven't done that yet so I hope it at least works for that).

I didn't want to spend the big bucks for the big name brands at this time, so I did a lot of looking and research, and ended up going with the HPN Signature, and can upgrade if need be down the road.

After the fiasco with the swing away I decided to go with the Clam Shell.

As expected I have found good and bad (as is the case with everything), but decided to give HPN the benefit of the doubt, anything will be better than what I ended up with with my first press.

Lesson learned, stay away from those low cost amazon presses, they truly are TERRIBLE!

I will keep you all posted on how things go with the HPN Signature as it is scheduled for delivery tomorrow.

Regards,
Don - "D"

I am going on 3 weeks of trying to get my press refunded for a new one - well now I just want my money back - dealing with the same tech - Marlon Buttram - it's like pulling teeth to get any response from him - I am OVER it....trying to run a shirt shop with just 1 heat press is not fun.... UGH and I HATE being like a jerk but I am paying for something that is just sitting on my counter and not making me money....!!!

Completely agree. This place has crappy products, customer service, and crappy technical support. After getting ignored and given the runaround for months finally reached out to me and apologized after bad review and all I got was a 5% discount on my next purchase, even though they assured me they will take the products back. Hpn wouldn't even cover the tax🏽 .
