I usually fold and press shirts that are size large and above prior to printing not to remove moisture but to help center on the platen. It only takes a couple of seconds to get a center line with the press but the time is generally based more on the flow of the work than a set time
I pretreat all of my shirts whether they are light or dark, so yes they are pressed prior to printing. But before I pretreated light shirts, I would pre-press for 10 seconds to get the wrinkles and moisture out..
I press for 10 sec prior. Then pretreat light or dark. Then cure pretreat. Also pressing even without pretreat lays fibers down and gets rid of wrinkles, which if bad enough cam brush against the head.
