I have a flash, but no conveyor dryer. So i have been using a heat press to cure everything, and havent had an issue until now. im doing a white on black that i FINALLY got a good print of! Well, pretty decent. Anyway it has some pretty solid white pieces to the artwork. A tinge rough before i put it in the heat press, but not worse than some of the stuff ive bought at the store. Ok, i press it at 330 for 15 secs. when i pull it out, its poc marked. Could it be im laying down too much ink? Im doing my best to keep it at two passes. PFP. But a couple I have had to do 3 passes. But the 2 and 3 passes both are doing this. Ryonet Lava about 5% reduced. 110 mesh screen. 100% cotton Gildan T. Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

I think it is too much ink, but maybe flashing it before you put the heat press on will help keep all the ink down without lifting some up on the Teflon sheet/cover.

I have cured hundreds of shirts by heat press.
Usually I would print and flash if I was doing light ink on dark and go straight to heat press without flashing after last print.

If you are getting air bubbles through the print when you heat press it there is also a chance there is moisture in the garment you are printing. (The moisture when heated forms air bubbles and then escapes through the path of least resistance causing "pitting" in the ink)

If you press the garments for about 4 seconds before you print and then cure right after it should eliminate this.

If that works you found the issue if not I would also try lightening up on your pressure and dialing back the time to 10-12 seconds then 8-10 seconds.

Make sure you are right with the temp also by using a laser temp gun. A lot of inexpensive heat presses are off by as much as 20 degrees. You think your at 330 and you are really at 350-360.

Then go after the ink and mesh size. Unless something crazy happened with your ink or you have a super thick deposit it shouldn't be the problem though.

GOOD LUCK
