Hi, I'm just starting screen printing and i'm on a tight budget and i just wondered if anyone has a cheap method for curing plastisol inks rather than using a flash dryer or a heat press.
Thanks.

Any method that is cheap on cash is expensive on time and reliability. I have heard people using things like 1000 watt work lights. Shop heaters, heat guns, and etc. all have reliability and consistency issues and ruin a lot of shirts (aka your profit).

Can you contract out a few jobs so you can save enough for a IR flash. Check for used ones or go with an economy model from some place like ryonet. If your good you will make enough to upgrade quickly anyways. It's not as good as getting what you need for the long run up front but it certainly works when you are trying to bootstrap.

My two cents, toss them in a well and make a wish.

i would say that the best is to save some coins and get IR flash dryer. i just bought one from US and very happy with price and service. ok it wasn't cheap, but it will make my life easier definitely .. there are couple companies here in uk .. they are screen printing stuff manufactures .. flash dryer prices are cheap compare to IR flash dryer, but the quality is very poor. i think the second hand you can get from ebay for £100. i bought one and sold after 2 weeks ..
