Hey guys I haven't been on in a while, I bought a house and got married and have just been really busy lately. Things have since settled down so I bought myself a GCC Expert 24 to get into the vinyl/t-shirt industry.

Anyway, everything is going great except I am having trouble setting my X0, Y0 origin. I am a CNC machinist by trade and typically we set our origin to the bottom left corner of the stock. I can't seem to make it work for this.

I load my vinyl and do a manual move of the cutter to the bottom left and hit Origin Set. Whenever I turn the machine online and press Cut Test, the cutter head moves completely to the right then back to the left, drops the blade down, and makes a small mark where I am trying to set my 0,0 origin.

Unfortunately whenever I try to cut a test piece, the cutter moves over to the right of the vinyl piece and cuts the design upside down and backwards.

Sorry for the long post, I would really appreciate it if anybody could help me.

I have the same cutter.....As far as I know the origin is always on the right front corner.....You can set it in the middle of your material, however, it only uses the material to the right of that point......

As far as the way it cuts...."upside down and backwards"......You can rotate and/or mirror your design in Great Cut (or even in graphic's software before you import it).....

Okay I'm confused. I understand what you are saying but why do the 2 different programs I've tried always have the origin at typical X0 Y0 in the bottom left corner represented by the red dot below?

So the machine considers the black dot as 0,0? I would consider that 11, 0.

I guess I'll just have to work around it if that's how it truly is. Would it be possible for you to explain to me your procedure when you first add material to set your origin? I would really appreciate it. The user manual included is helpful in some ways but very basic on this subject.
