Hey guys,

I'm having trouble when masking designs for dark garments. I currently use 3G Jet Opaque heat transfer paper. I buy everything from coastal business including the masking tape.

Here is what I do start to finish:

1. Make my design.
2. Print my design
3. Cut my design
4. Peel away excess heat transfer paper
5. Place masking paper on heat transfer
6. Use a plastic scraper to press down the front and get rid of the air bubbles.
7. Flip it over and rub the back with the plastic scraper as hard as I can (I'm decently strong)

Here is my problem that I've been having:

Nothing sticks to the masking paper when I pull it up. I have to use a razor blade to loosen up the design then put the masking paper back down and try to get it to stick.

As you can imagine on a complex design this can take a very long time. I started this business about 5 months ago and I don't have the time to take this long on every shirt. At first I thought it was faulty paper or masking tape but since then I've probably purchased at least 10 rolls of masking paper and 10-12 packs of paper. I've already contacted coastal business and they basically told me that they've never had that problem and assured me it wasn't the paper.

If anyone has any tips at all it would be so much appreciated.

Thanks in Advance,

- Travis

@ttcbird - Could you PM me with your information so I can look up your account? I'd like to try to figure out what the problem is. Generally, if the tape isn't adhering it could be because you're using the wrong type of tape or not rubbing it long enough, but I'd like to see if there's another issue going on with either the paper or the masking tape in order to get this working for you.
