Well... full disclosure... we let the printer sit for about a week (maybe more) with no printing. Just lots going on and no computer hooked to it for a while.

Anyway... I printed my 4 color purge (only about an inch of it) and it printed ok except the yellow had some lines. The wife thought it was due to low ink... I didn't agree but I know better than to argue :D

So... I load up all my brand new inkjetcarts.us carts and slap those puppies in.... well it got worse... some of the images were horrid. We got so fed up we just walked away.

Well, I finally had the time/patience to sit down and mess with it and this is what it is doing.

Here is a picture I printed.

This picture was taken with a Canon 50D so it's obviously not the source!

*edit* I have rotated this pic so the lines were going horizontal.

Yep! I agree w/ Charles. Black head looks clogged.
OR... it is a possible “AIR in the cart” issue. (that is a pain, I know)
Check out some of these threads concerning "banding"
http://www.t-shirtforums.com/search.php?searchid=2248697

First, make sure that both "black" carts are full.
(curious, did you vacuum fill them on the first fill?) http://www.inkjetcarts.us/support_original/epson_initial_loading_vacuum.php

Next, print out a nozzle check pattern.....that should tell you what is happening.
If the nozzle check pattern is not good, then do a head cleaning.
Then, do another nozzle check.
If the pattern is good after the head cleaning, print the purge 4 file.
If the “black” still has banding then print a “black” purge file only.
See if this fixes the problem.
If it does not, I would contact Ross at inkjetcarts.us
(they offer toll free telephone and email support and weekend support!) :)

But watch this before you do...

How To Test and Prime up Epson InkJet Printers
Proper Prime/Test/Inspection & Head Cleaning of InkJet Printers
http://www.inkjetcarts.us/support_original/epson_test_and_prime_inkjets.php

I have been using inkjetcarts.us for over 2 years now and they have always been VERY helpful.
Whenever I have a problem with anything they always stay on the phone w/ me until the problem is resolved. :)

I use their ink and carts in all of my printers.
My HT printers … C120's, C88, R280, sp1400 and now my new WF1100.
(even in my regular everyday printer the cannon ip4200.)

Ok... sorry it took so long but as per these and some instructions from Ross at inkjetcarts.us I got it working.

Well, it kind of decided to want to act right all of a sudden.

Been over a week before I got around to tackling this problem and after doing a head cleaning (done before a couple times) and then a 4 color purge with some settings from Ross it seemed to work.

Now I got to figure out the color issue... but that is another thread.

Thanks everyone!

BTW, for the record this is a gravity fed 4 cart system CYMK.
