Hello,
I hope to have a store up and running in a month or so. While considering how many of this design, and that design I should have printed up I got to wondering this: What if I printed up 100 t shirts, and I got 10,000 orders? Okay, I am dreaming, it's not going to happen. Still, if I got 500 orders, and I had only 100 t shirts in inventory I'd be a little screwed...I might not have the money to print up 400 extra shirts right away.

Has anyone, especially when you were beginning, had much greater success than you were prepared for? Anyone have a problem similar to the one mentioned above...tons of orders, but a small inventory.

How do I determine how many shirts, featuring one design, I should have printed in the first place?

Thank you.

Many newer shopping carts will let you use an inventory system to fix this problem.

Since you have 100 shirts, when order # 101 comes along, it'll tell them automatically that you're sold out.

Although you could always use the profits from the first 100 to print the next order. Hope this helps!!!

Along with knowing which sizes to print, that's the hard part and that is why I decided to go the plastisol/heat press route and print on demand as the orders come in.
