sometimes the wiper blade armature will get stuck at the rails and the pivot point. Put some "super lube" on the pivot point and a little on the rails to keep it moving.
Is this a design featu.... er flaw?
I've noticed that the rails that the wiper blade rides on is not cleanly finished and quite rough and any gunked ink buildup impedes the movement.
Keeping the wiper blade rails and mechanisms exceptionally clean reduces sticking problems.

...if it is not moving, use your finger to nudge it a little down low at the bottom of the armature. Problem solved.
Sorry Ken.... NOT solved. If a number of machines are experiencing the same problem then it is a design flaw. Physically assisting or pushing the blade-holder can result in a broken blade mechanism arm.
Talking from experience. Yes, have had to replace the entire maintenance station because I "pushed" on the blade holder while it was retracting, a number of times. The plastic pivot point snapped and the threaded shaft came out of the motor.
The solution would have been a smooth finished cut instead of the raw rough edges that are left after machining the piece. Just my observation....
I will be taking some emery cloth to the rail slot to polish off the rough edges and then use the "Super Lube"

run a light head clean and watch the wiper blade move....
Instead of
wasting ink to watch the blade move, three key into the secret technician's panel, select maintenance station, toggle blade movement...
