Hey every1,
:confused::confused:I want to start my own brand name/catch phrase. something catchy like nike, echo, element, etc.
My market is skateboarders and such. My company mascot is the chameleon but I'm not sure if I want to innertwine it in a catch phrase.
:rolleyes:What are good ways to come up with a good catch phrase? somehting to catch peoples attention and get them to take a second look?
:eek:Any advise or critique would be better than sitting here pulling my hair out!
Thanks,
Cham

Re: Brand Name/Catch Phrase

Hello
I have name for my brand, nothing to do with t-shirts..I did as follows, went to a nice coffee shop where I could people watch. I started to write ideas, some just single words other almost sentences. I ended up with 80 odd ideas, cut it down to finally 10 and then the final after asking a few friends. This took about 5 hours.
How about going out and asking skateboarders in one word what it means to them ?. You could use skate rat or has that been done ?. Just had an idea how about a skateboarder (chameleon) coming out of the ocean on his board, or even skateboard riding a wave ? just checked out the history of skateboarding.

I can tell you that you will not be Nike or Echo at their game. Nor will you be Vans at their game. It would be wise for you to do it completely different from them. If you do not have an original idea, then perhaps have an original system or execution of what you are trying to accomplish. If you have high goals for your company, then you need to re-think everything and try to do it differently from your competitors to give you an overall advantage.

I'm not looking to beat them at their own game, I am trying to find ways to come up with a product line catch phrase. WHen someone mentions Nike or Echo you think of clothes or shoes, or rhino. I want to come up with a name that people will see and think of my shirts. Like Tshirthell you would think of thier shirts.

I liked the coffe shop idea of asking friends, that may take some stress off and ease my mind a little. I have come up with a bunch of names so I will ask some friends. :)
