I am looking to start a dtg business and want some advice on how to work with an investor and where is the best place to find them.

One of the first questions to ask yourself is, do you want an investor with just his money in your business or his nose also. Both are acceptable under the right conditions but remember, it is a partnership like a marriage. If your partner isn't happy, neither will you be. I've had both, one ended in court after blows and the other, well we are still real good friends and would do anything for each other.

The Chamber of Commerce or the Small Business Admin. might be a place to look.We have a Small Business Development council in my town. Your banker might be another link to someone with money.

Are you looking for an investor only to acquire the DTG printer? Or do you already have designs ready to be rolled out once you do get the printer? The reason i ask is because the main thing an investor will want to know if how you plan to repay return investment, watch Shark Tank, you'll learn so much.

If you need capital to get the DTG printer, honestly i would save what you can & borrow from family or friends or even lease with a co-signer to get it. With a good set of designs, a great marketing plan & promotions you can pay for the DTG & whatever money borrowed in no time. I would save the Investor route for bigger ventures such as opening a store front & make sure your biz plan is tight too!
