My name's Tim. I'm originally from New Zealand, but I'm currently volunteering for a business called Freeset (see Freeset - We make eco-friendly, fair trade, customized promotional jute bags and Freeset - Tees if you're interested in learning more). We work in the largest red light area in Kolkata, India. Our goal is to offer an economic alternative to the sex trade for the women of our area, most of whom ended up in the trade either through being trafficked or because poverty left them with no other way to feed their families.
Anyway, the way we do this is by giving them training and employment making fair trade bags and t-shirts. I'm working in screen printing (which I didn't actually know anything about a year ago), and we're having a few issues. Which is where you guys come in.
