I've read a bunch of manuals and read alot of posts but can't seem to find clear instructions on how to create the image in Corel X5, what file extension to save it as and how to send it to Great Cut...
actually what I mean is I've tried to do it all the different ways I've read in the manuals and threads and either I'm missing something or I'm doing something completely backwards....

I tried to import .SVF, .EPS and .AI files into Great Cut and nothing happens...
blank page.....

is there a video or text tutorial that clearly explains:
1: what to do to the image you want to send to Great Cut as far as editing & saving it and which file extension to save it as...

2:what to do once GC is open...

3:how to make the cutter actually cut...

probably sounds ridiculous, I know but when/if your working on something that isn't working correctly but you're doing exactly as you're supposed to you start confusing yourself...

in most of the threads all I find is "edit image in corel, send to great cut and click output"...kinda vague...

also, I thought when you double-click on the cutter icon when Corel is open it's supposed to send the image to GC??
that ain't happening here...

Open Great Cut

Open the sample file provided by GCC that is located in the
"JOBS" folder of the program install location.

If it opens load vinyl into the cutter, turn the cutter on, and try to cut it.

Easiest way is "File" - "Output"

Make sure Great cut and the cutter both work before worrying about importing graphics or custom designs.

so great cut can ONLY cut outlined images, correct??
Great Cut is a software package for cutting vinyl. With the correct cutter, the Expert 24 LX for example (the NON LX version of the Expert 24 does not have the contour cut capability), it can also contour cut images.

But actually it doesn't matter if Great Cut could cook dinner, wash the car, walk the dog and cut the grass if it and the cutter are not both correctly installed, configured and operable.

Try cutting the test file. :D

Noooooo, keep this thread alive. I am having this issue too. I have not been able to use any of my software to print a transfer and send it to cut with my GCC Expert 24 LX as of yet. I was able to go to cadworx and send somthing to VectorCut, but that would be if I had vinyl, but it was the very first time in 2 days I was able to get the cutter to cut. :D I have GreatCut, Adobe Ill, CorelDraw 6, can I please get a step by step on how to import a photo, Contour cut it, and print it on Transfer paper (epson 610 printer) then send to cutter? Any and all help GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I know. I have an Epson 610 Printer. I am trying to take images, edit them, contour cut them, print them, then put my transfer in the cutter, then send image to cutter for cutting. I can't even get past the image creation stage that will allow cutting, but I do know how to set the contour lines.....lol
