Hi All

Ive seen some spot info here and there about greasing/lubricating the rails the carriage slides back and forth on and even the wheel bearings.

It's not mentioned as a part of daily/weekly/monthly maintenance procedure, is it in the yearly service lol? is it even necessary?

I keep the rails clean but since I tightened the belt it's sounding metal-ly as if it could do with some lube.

I have the 'grease for maintenance cycle' that came with the printer, if this is necessary is this the stuff I use? where do I apply?

Thanks in advance

James

Averaged 100 shirts per week for 18 months now but had some big weeks of 500+. Last week and this week combined 800 prints and still going. (all lights so no P/T heheheheh)

Sounds as though it 'could' run a little smoother but also we are coming into winter so average temp is maybe under 17deg CELCIUS in early mornings and nights. Normally 25deg+.

Is the 'oil' you talk of the white grease stuff in little bottle with red cap? 'grease for maintenance cycle'....

how would i apply to rail? little wheels on carriage needed at all?

We use glycerine on ours, and we clean the rails and printhead bearings with it once a month, more often if we do a particularly linty garment print run (looking at you, hoodies). We use a bit of glycerine to "clean" the rails and bearings, then reapply as a lubricant.
