Hello,

I am definitely a newbie. I recently purchased the Graphtec CE6000-40. I am running MAC OS, and after installing the Graphtec software, when I go to test the communication between the plotter and my computer, I continue to get a message that reads "load media" as the status as oppose to the 'ready' status.

I tried to trouble shoot the problem by:
- Turning on and off the plotter
- Checking the Connections
- Verifying the minimum computer settings
- and reloading the software


The only thing I have not done was ensure the plotter language is set to Standard (cannot find the setting).

If anyone understand what could be causing this communication issue, please advise.

I haven't received my Graphtec CE6000-40 yet but from what I have already read in the manual I believe that you have to have media loaded for the plotter to respond. (Probably why you are getting "Load Media" message?

Put the pinch rollers down.

Don't forget to select roll, edge, or sheet after you have put the roller's down.

I too run a Mac OSX system. I don't think you have a communication problem, you just have to load the cutter. Once that is done everything should be fine.
