i just hooked my brand new ce 5000 up. it cut maybe three times and now it moves as if its cutting, but when it stops there are no results??? does any body have any idea what might be the problem? it wont even do the test cut now... it moves just doesnt cut...

Maybe your blade holder is not captured correctly and has slipped up.

Remove the blade and make sure that the blade and spring are working. Sometimes the blade can get stuck. Is your blade sticking out 1/2 the thickness of a business card? I am using a downforce of around 15 for vinyl. That would be a good starting point.

Also, check to make sure you didn't accidentially break the tip off of your blade.

Hi Sunra1081. You need to make sure that the blade hold-down is sitting on top of the lip on the blade holder. You also need to make sure that when you are tightening the blade hold down that you tighten it down firmly. Just be careful not to break or strip out the screw. Another thing you should consider is how much of the blade is sticking out of the blade holder. You may need to adjust the amount of blade tip that is protruding out of the blade holder. Double check the downforce your machine is set to as well. Hope this helps. If not, let me know and I will put further thought into this. Good Luck!
