Graphtec CE5000-60 weird issue (no media error)

Hi all.
First of all - hi to everyone. I've been reading the forum for a while, as I'm pretty new to the business (bought my Graphtec just a year ago) mainly treating it as hobby with plans to advertise to the public. For last year had many ups and downs with my machine, learning from own mistakes and searching solutions online. Asking on forum is usually a last resort for me and that time has come.

But to the point

:

I recently ordered my first flex vinyls from MDP Supplies in UK in order to make some T-Shirts.
Everything went fine until I wanted to use black roll of flex.
Every time I feed the roll, the plotter "scans" the roll and moves the blade to the starting point (bottom right) - no problems, recognizes the media etc.
When I send the job it starts and suddenly stops and "NO MEDIA" message appears. It happens at the point when sensor is exposed (vinyl not covering it for a split second) - but that doesn't happen with other colors despite the same procedure).
It's really weird, because I tried different flex colours, sticker vinyls and it finishes the job without any isssues!
Any ideas how to solve that or what can be causing it?
I can record a short clip and post it tomorrow if that will help.

Hi,
I've had this you can normally hit the enter key when the message appears and it will still carry on cutting, or you could stick some masking tape over the eye at the back of the machine.

Hi and thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately when I hit enter (I've read it in manual) it just freezes and doesn't continue the job.
I'm considering disabling sensors (need to find the option in the menu though), but don't really want to do that only because of one black flex vinyl.
If I manually feed the roll forward after it scans the media it'll complete the job (if I feed long enough), but that will cause a lot of waste (need to feed above 2 inches/5cm).
Most logical answer that comes to my mind is the material itself (but other colors from same brand work fine?)

We always feed our media forward at least 2" as we've found if we set the origin right on the front edge of the vinyl it can screw up when it cuts.

Mine never screws up the jobs when starting job from bottom right with other rolls, 2" is quite a lot if that's what's wasted with every job.

Anyone got an idea what can be causing it?

there are sensors at the front and the back cover them both

2" of vinyl is about .25p

that's $7.50 per 10 yard roll, I start with maybe a 1/4" of the edge

That won't work. To avoid wasting material I took off the holder and experienced with different lengths - 2" worked. When it was shorter the plotter started cutting, but at one point during cutting, when the sensor got exposed, it was stopping the job.
I know it's "only" 0.25p, but to start one cutting job and lose 0.25p every time it's quite a bit of money.

But again - why it only happens with black flex?

Maybe you need to do a firmware update on the Graphtec? Have you tried contacting them?

I haven't tried firmware update (don't know if it's possible with this model) and actually considered contacting them.
Tried factory reset and it didn't work.

What cutting program are you using?
