What are the standard settings/properties for DTG printing? Or is there such a thing? I know there are a lot of variables but what is the baseline or starting point I should have the art work in and the printer set at? Or is it simply and totally dependent on the printer itself?

Sorry for all the questions, my printer is due to arrive in a couple of days and I'm getting antsy so I need to fill these idle hands with something to do LOL.

We use a Velocijet for DTG, and I always export 300dpi RGB PNG's with transparent backgrounds

I read a tip to export at a higher dpi in order to blow up the art later. Good idea for me since I use a couple of designs in many different sized formats. I also use the png and transparancey as the background.

Hi,

Like the guys i use png images. Unless a black or white t shirt where i can have a black or white background . And the rip will see this and not print.
What are you getting? I have k3 and love it . But takes a bit of learning.

@SuicideCharley You would have to build the artwork initially at the higher resolution, but it is not a bad idea. I usually try to work vector, so I have whatever resolution I need.
