Hello all -
My name is Cameron. I have been in the fashion industry for the last 14 years and have decided to start a line of t-shirts, print them myself and hopefully expand into printing for other people as well.
I started off my career in apparel design but moved into graphic and textile design about 6 years ago. I spent 2 years doing all the women's graphics and textiles at a little company called Nautica in NYC. A year ago I left Nautica and NYC and moved to LA.
I've wanted to start my own t-shirt line for some time but now that I can't find full time employment I have had the time to develop my vision. I had a difficult time finding a printer that would work with me the way I would like so I figured why not do it myself and start my own business while I'm at it!
Right now I have a Graphtec CE 6000-60 and a heat press. I've set up a nice studio at home and am currently teaching myself to use the equipment, sourcing materials and developing the brand.
I don't have a website yet for my line but I do have an online portfolio (http://www.coroflot.com/camerons) if you're interested in my work.
I anticipate having many questions along the way so thanks in advance for any help you can offer! Maybe I can return the favor by way of answering some of your questions regarding graphic design, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Cheers,
Cameron
