I am a screen printer/embroider. I am interested in doing government contracts. I have no idea how to do pricing. Are there guides or suggestions of how I should begin?
Just remember that they are obligated to get multiple quotes for jobs and they have to take the lowest bid. So come in low but not to low to were you don't make any profit. Also make sure you get paid before you send the product. Money move around every election.
We’ve bid some gov. contracts. The pricing came in so disgustingly low it wasn’t worth the time to write the bid. A lot of decorators are willing to give their work away and I’m not.
We do a few Police outfits and some city work but there are a lot of insiders in this market. At no time do any of them send out work to bid for the work we do. They just order from us.
There are government contract websites you can register with. In California there is a specific one and bids come out on it all the time. The city of Los Angeles frequently has bid notifications as well.
