Almost any name can make a good brand.

It's what you *do* with the name that makes it great.

The ones that you posted probably wouldn't be as cool if the companies hadn't spent time/money/effort to make them into something remarkable.

Just pick a name, make sure it's not already trademarked, then work your butt off to make it awesome :)
But me as a person i need a name. i dotn want to pick a name in i dont like it. thats the hard part. im a very good Graphic Designer. im not worried about how it looks i just need a name that will make people be like I HAVE TO LOOK AT THIS. or I LOVE THE NAME & THE CLOTHES.
i agree with Rodney, it's what you make of it. If you're trying to come up with a name for a brand, it can help if you have a direction or theme.

as examples, the companies you listed are using those names for specific reasons.

Levis : named after the founder Levi Strausse, company name is Levi Strauss & Co.

DC: DC was originally a devision of Droors Clothing, named DCshoeCo.

if your the designer why not use your name/nickname/callsign/ect..?
how about Deion clothing? Deion designs? ect..

I believe the name is very important and you need to come up with it yourself. it maybe a better idea to ask for direction or ways to inspire yourself.

i'd suggest thinking about what your brand is about first, what you want it to represent. That will give you the right direction to find a fitting name.

Since you're the one picking it, it should be easy to avoid names that you don't like :)

It'll be harder for us to pick/suggest a name for you since we don't know you or your brand.

That's what I was trying to get across. It's not the *name* that makes people say "I have to look at this", it's what you *do* with the name that makes people go WOW.

Hollister is the name of a city in California. But because of the time and money they spent branding that name, it's now thought of as a "cool" brand by those that wear it.

Not everyone thinks it's cool though. So there's not going to be a great "universal" name that we can suggest.

The best suggestion would be to come up with 10 different name suggestions of your own and narrow them down slowly.

Here's a couple of good threads that might also help:

Think about his suggestion and apply it to your situation. Since there's two of you, maybe you could use a cool/unique combination of both your names. I've seen that often in business names.

Then again, if you guys ever split ways, it might make it harder to go your separate ways if your name is part of the business name.
