I have a couple questions, hopefully someone can help.

I have saved my art as high res jpeg files, but when I go to import my art, there is a white box around my art. in the tutorial I watched, they used .jpg files, and I didnt see this issue. Is there another file type I should use? or a step I'm missing? I know .gif files have transparent backgrounds, but the image quality is no good.

Also, it seems with the 2nd volume, you can't change the color of the shirt? I spend 99% of my time in illustrator, so forgive me if the answer is obvious. I think you must be able to change the shirt color, its useless if only 3 colors can be used, right?

I watched a couple youtube tutorials but they were no help with volume 2.

You have to save the jpeg with a transparent background. Secondly the templates are multilayer and there is one specific layer that you can change the shirt color. You just have to play with the layers a little to find out which one it is.

Thanks, I'll try a .tif file, but thought if I used the same files they use on the how to vid I'd be ok. Also the problem I have with the shirt color layers is they are locked, and wont let me edit them. Can the layers be unlocked somehow?

^even if they're locked, u should be able to unlock them by clicking on the lock icon.

unless it's the background layer itself. if that's the case, just duplicate the layer and u should be able to change the color.

the esient way ive found is when you save the file in PS or AI you save it as ps or ai depending on what you use then when you go and try to tranfer thee image you go to file and go to place and this will open up the a window where you find your file and palce it make sure when you save it it saves with out a backround in the layers. Also this will alow you to play with it in size and all. and you will not loose out in any quality.

a little update, saving in Illustrator as an .ai file worked the best, and was the easiest to re-size, I'm not sure how they did it in the video, as it looked like they just grabbed a corner and dragged to re-size, I havent found a way to do that yet. A .tiff file still had a background around it.

As for the shirt color all the layers are locked and cant be unlocked, I don't know why they did this. I also have been unable to duplicate the layer to add my own color. I am about to contact arsenal and find out how to do this, i'll post what I learn

just off the phone with gomedia, they are awesome.

He showed me how to unlock the color layers and change the color simply using the paintbucket tool. Also, you can use .jpeg files, what you do is import your artwork, then right underneath the "layers" tab, will be a box with a dropdown, it will read "normal" click the dropdown and select "multiply" this will effectively remove the white box around your art.
