We do screen printing on polo shirts quite a lot. But only for custom orders. It's not something I'd keep on hand in a retail setting. It's a great alternative to embroidery and much more cost effective. We've done jobs for construction companies or contractors, where they want their management in a sharp looking polo. As a matter of fact we wear screen printed polos at our shop.

They are polo shirts. Some people refer to polo shirts as T-shirts but shirts with a collar and placket are considered to be polo shirts. Many polos can be screen printed if the fabric is flat and there aren't dye migration problems. But, people tend to print on cheaper polos. Screen printed polos work well for give-aways. They can also be used for athletic groups. Most people prefer the look of embroidery for a more expensive looking shirt. These styles don't look cheap so they would probably be more appropriate for embroidery. Screen printing them will allow you to print a large back design that won't work for embroidery but most people don't like that look on polos.
