I am a small embroidery studio and have been investigating vinyl cutters and rhinestone machines. This is all very new and I need some guidance please.

The only thing I know about cutters is limited to the Cricut Expression I have with Sure Cuts Alot software. I have been using Glitter Flake and folks seems to love it.

I am leaning towards a Decor 2 color with the Hot Fix Era software. Based on what I have read it seems to be a good starting point for me. I am also looking at a 24" cutter as well.

I am stumped on the design process. My clients typically give me a school logo. I auto trace in SCAL, size and send to my Cricuit, cutting the various pieces by color.

I want to be able to outline the glitter with stones like the picture. Can someone explain this process??

I agree with you on the DECOR. I have one and it has been running non stop for a year and I am now looking into the 4 or 6 color DECOR.

To add rhinestones to the design, you should be able to place circles (like you are making a rhinestone template) around the design. Remove the actual logo leaving just the circles then cut your sticky flock and brush your stones in. Pick them up with transfer paper/tape. Press the vinyl first then line up the rhinestone transfer and press.....Hope this information is helpful. Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if there was a program that did both and then you break apart the rhinestone area and send to machine and then send the other portion to the cutter. Is that correct??

This is very easy to do, just create a Outline around the letters, as close or far away as you want, and then with what ever software you use, go ahead and just stone the outline,

Press the glitter First ,, kiss pressing it, then press the stones, for the full time, using a pillow or mouse pad under it will help keep the heat even on all substrates.
