Our main supplier in Florida (Alpha/BroderBros) has recently increased single prices on the Gildan G2000

We have a backup supplier that's still (and always has been) selling in [a more reasonable] range...
unfortunately, we haven't needed to use these guys yet (Atlantic Coast Cotton).

So before we pack up and take our multi-thousand dollar/month account from Alpha and head over to ACC...
can anyone advise on even cheaper pricing for the G200, preferably from a wholesaler on the EAST Coast?

I'm not sure what Alpha is doing, but they're a BIG company...
they should have the buying power to keep prices stable on such a cheapo, mass-produced t-shirt.

Angry.

P.S. Yes, we still buy singles regularly...too many colors and sizes to buy cases for everything.

If you are spending a couple of thousand a month they should be giving you case pricing on everything you order. If you are happy with them on the whole, ask them to give you case pricing on all orders. If not, try Carolina Made or Virginia T's. I get case pricing on anything I order from them. Even if it's one piece.

Good luck

IMPRINTS WHOLESALE | Imprintable Sportswear, Activewear and Apparel has them for the old pricing we are all used to seeing and has not had a price hike this year. They are west coast, you should check them out.

I have always found Alpha singles pricing way too high. Imprints wholesale has one price only. Sanmar is another West Coast supplier with good pricing.

Doh, it was late last night...

I have NO IDEA why I said "West Coast"...
last I checked, Florida is on the EAST COAST!!!!! LOL!

No matter, I'm gonna take a look at some of the suggestions...thanks for the input!

greyhorsewoman: I just checked, colors are [over $3 per unit] (that's ringspun pricing!!)...
these are not "case prices" though

*sigh*

TSC also has a distribution center in Atlanta. They have the best pricing I have found. I use Broder for emergencies because I can pick them up same day but they always cost more. I understand that some people have different pricing because of volume ... so I'm just saying this has been my experience. I usually only buy a small amount at a time.

We're just talking about blank shirts in general. If you're paying that much per shirt you really need to open a wholesale account with some shirt vendors, but most require some sort of proof that you are a retailer (resale certificate, vendor's license, tax ID, etc.).

I don't think that you are supposed to be posting wholesale prices online.
That's ok...
Alpha/Broder has already lost my business,
they can cancel my account if they want. :D

P.S. They told me they negotiate terms at 40 cases...
we do a lot, but nowhere near that much. To hell with them.

P.S.S. Thanks queerrep & sjidohair...looking into both!

Sanmar has the 2000 T-shirt at [under $2] - sales ends today 10/31 then it's back ( up to xlg) -- that's according to the case price I receive . . .
Sanmar does base their price on what you purchase when you set up an account with them (if my memory serve me right) . .

VirginiaT's price is also [under $2]... sales ends today 10/31 then it's back up (up to xlg)

both suppliers have a warehouse in Jacksonville Fl --- if you are having an order shipped -- order before 2 pm (est) -- it's same day shipping . . .

hope that helps

Yes, this is correct, t-shirt wholesalers have contacted us and have asked us not to post their wholesale pricing here in this forum (which is public) :)

That's one of the reasons the bigger wholesale t-shirt distributors require that customers register for their site and prove that they are a decorator or a business before giving them wholesale pricing.

I know that qualifies most of us here, but since this forum is open to the public (like search engines), it's a bit different. It helps to protect your wholesale pricing from your potential customers.

Feel free to talk in "general" terms (over $3, under $2, around $3 a piece, etc) without giving out specifics. However, if the company posts its wholesale pricing on their public facing website (like jiffyshirts.com, cheapestees.com, epacificsports.com, etc), then it's OK to quote their pricing here :)

I was happy with mid-$2...even if it fluctuated.
But a $1.00 hike is just rude...especially when the rest of the industry is NOT working at that price.

Alpha is a big company, they're supposed to have buying power...
but I guess I should have seen this coming considering they offer free shipping,
but I've NEVER managed to get the deal.

Why?

Because the deal doesn't apply to "specials"...
and Gildan and/or FOL are ALWAYS on special (isn't that convenient).

It's kinda like Sony, or any other company that gets to a certain level of business...
they either cheapen the quality of their product, or they treat the customer like an idiot and overcharge.

Too bad, I liked Alpha (except for the fact they could never get their color swatches right)...
but their customer service and pricing used to be decent...now they won't even reply to my emails, and we all the know the pricing.

I think it's Broder's fault...
they can't afford the takeover/aquisitions they initiated (Alpha & NES),
so they're placing the burden on the customer.

It's things like this that stir-up my anti-corporate opinions...
stay small, fend for you family, keep the stock market out of your business.

Broder did $124M in profits last year...it's hard to believe they need to raise prices.
