I have shopped around and found that Gildan Style 5000 t-shirts might be the most affordable for screenprinting on. My question is has anybody used these tees for screenprinting on and how is the durability and would you recommend it or should I use a higher oz shirt. I am planning to use a maximum of 4 colors on dark shirts. Please advise if you can assist.

Thank you,

I like the 5.4 oz, personally. It has a more relaxed fit than the 6 oz. They're both cotton. I think the lighter material is preferred in my area, of course Im in Hawaii, and the weather is always warm, and people tend to wear a lot of surf shorts, and breathier? clothing. I say go with the lighter material for the lighter colored shirts and playful designs, and maybe heavier cotton for the black or dark shirts with the rougher, tougher designs.
