Hi,
I have read in the forum about copyright and infrigements however I could not find any info on "how to get permission" to use older Celeb photos and modify them. I don't even know where to start, or who to contact. For instance, I would like to use "Twiggy" the model or say "Grace Kelly" or perhaps an older musician then modified the photo use them on shirts. Where do I go to get permission? Is it expensive to get a licence?

For deceased celebrities, their images are often owned by their estates. Sometimes entertainment agencies do buy them, or a licensing agency will handle the licensing rights for the heirs.

For celebrities that are alive, I'm guessing their agent might handle this, or they might form a corporation to handle licensing rights.

And it won't be cheap to license a popular celebrity. Licensing is big business.
