I just have a bit of an issue. When I am cutting larger letters or numbers, 20" or so. I find that when my blade is up and travelling to make its next cut, it seems to scratch or score the top of the vinyl. It doesn't cut through just kind of makes annoying little line marks that I don't find attractive. Am I not pulling the material tight enough when I set my pinch rollers? I kind of put it tight but not overkill if you know what I mean. I also have the little middle want to be pinch roller set in the middle of the material and I still seem to get the marks... Any tips would be fantastic... thanks all

No luck on the bias blade thing.. Anyone else got any ideas?
Have you tried diss-assembling the blade holder and cleaning it out?

I use a q-tip with alcohol and then just a small bit of light oil on the blade to make sure the blade retracts easily back into the holder when not actually cutting.

When you press the small button on top of the holder the blade should extend then retract when you release the button.

When the blade is in the holder, it is just set, the carriage on my machine moves the blade holder. I appreciate the reply Blue92. I am wondering if my vinyl is just bowing and there is just not enough clearance period. That would seem like a bad machine design but what can you do.

The pressure is applied to the blade via the small button type protrusion on top of the blade holder. When the carriage lifts to move the pressure is released.

If your blade is hanging up due to the blade holder being sticky or a small piece of vinyl stuck to the carrier or the blade you may see what you have described.

Either way what I suggested is part of a good maintainance routine that I do every 2 to 3 weeks.
