Ok, so my GCC Expert 24" arrived today. Whoohoo! Now if I could only get the thing set up. I can't even get past the first two steps... power on (check), connect USB (check), and then...NOTHING! So I put in the CD and the message reads: Go to Control Panel to install and configure components...WTHeck!I'm clueless.Ugh!

I found a tech support number that was posted in the forum (1-909-718-0248) and have called half a dozen times already only to be sent to voicemail. Advice? Please and thank you.

I do not recall ever seeing that message pop up.

You need to run the driver install off the CD. Select GCC Expert 24, then the driver for you system, whether your system is 32 or 64 bit I mean.

Then after that you would install and register GreatCut.

Have a great day!

OMGoodness! Carla (dazzabling) ROCKS!!!! She patiently helped me install ALL the "stuff" I needed to get my GCC Exp 24" working with Windows XP-- I would have never been able to do it. I can't say thank you enough. :)

Also a lot of the gcc cutters come from the factory set in 64 bit mode. So if you dont have a 64 bit computer you have to change the cutter itself from 64 to 32. expert 24 press offline then hold down pause and origin set. if cut test is blinking then its in 64 bit, press data clear to set it in 32 bit mode. Also they have a problem of auto resetting their conection ports when you unplug the usb ports(doesnt happen all the time but ocasionally). Hope this helps.

what do you do when the cutter/head just keeps sliding back and forth on the track...can't seem to get the drivers to install on my 64-bit system, can't get a reply from the e-mails on the 20-year-old/half-chinese website and keep getting voicemail when I call the support number...not having ANY luck with this thing...what a huge mistake...

Try this. there should be a 64 bit driver on the install disk. if that doesnt work you have to call gcc directly ask for ruth. She's a super wizard when it comes to the cutters. If the driver installed corrrectly when you set the port up you should see windows_port 0. thats the port you want to use. also make sure that the cutter is set up in your rinters menu(sometimes makeing the cutter the default print device helps, not always but sometimes). If you cant get it to work messgae me and i will give you my contact info and see if i can help you out .

You are very welcome you actually helped me learn to help others with their Mac and experts..have fun!
This is news to me: Are GCC Experts now working with Macs? I was planning on a roland, but only because I read GCC was not compatible. Do you need a special driver?

Also, what design software is being used? Can I use Illustrator as my design software for a Mac with GCC Expert 24?

Thanks,

Richie

No, the Experts do not have MAC drivers you need to use Parallels or Boot Camp (Windows Emulator) in order to get the Expert to run on a MAC

You can design in Illustrator and import an .eps into Great Cut (Windows side).

Hello, first post here. New Expert 24 and been fooling with this for 5 hours straight. Doing everything the online tutorials tell me to do, however I can't seem to get anything to print. Drivers are installed 64 bit and the Expert shows up as a printer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
