Would it help to turn a grid on to imagine where each rhinestone would be placed? What program are you currently using to do your designs digitally?

Freehand drawings and designs??
I am trying to design my own rhinestone designs how can I do this?? Is there a tablet or something with a stylus etc. I have a top line HP Touch smart . Any help would be appreciated
