You tube video, explains setting up a HostGator account. At the end of video,mentions that benifits are additional domain website setups are free. This does not stand to reason to me that I could pay for one site and then setup several more for free.
Or did I misunderstand the you tube video

It's relatively common. You still have to pay to register each domain name, but many hosts will host them all for one fee.

Yes this is true. I use Hostgator and have a deidcated server. I have multiple sites hosted there. I am very happy with the service they provide. Any issues are always taken care of very quickly. Pricing will just depend on the amount of space you need. If you have any questions feel free to message me!
