Football theme items

Football season means drinking, tailgating and over all fun. I live near an NFL Stadium and of course have several sports bars in the area.

I am thinking about coming up with a football design and printing (vinyl) on koozies, aprons, spirt towels and anything else that does not have size requirements. I plan on going to the stadium on game day as well as a couple of sports bars and get with the tailgaters and other fans to sell these items.

I would appreciate you feedback on the idea in general and any suggestions based on experience.

Koozies with 2 sided print - $5.00 each or 5 for $20

Aprons for the Tailgating "Chefs" - $10.00 ea or 2 for 15.00

Spirit Towels - $5.00 each 5 fror $20
Most items would be black with white text / design with maybe a few pink with white for the ladies.

I'm trying to keep pricing in $5.00 increments so I won't have to carry around a lot of $1.00 bills.

Of course I hope to run into potential customers that may need custom / personalized shirts or other products.
Thanks for any feedback.

Koozies and Spirit Towels are a popular giveaway type item. So $5 seems like a lot. But find out what local stores are selling for and see where your pricing stands. Since it's a gameday impulse buy, maybe your pricing is ok.

On a separate note, make sure you get all the proper permits and licenses. You usually need permission from the city as well as the stadium to legally sell products on the premises.
not only do you need city peddlers permits to sell outside stadiums, but if you print a tm'd logo on anything without permission from the team...game over.
Its a great idea, but be careful and be sure to double check your I's and T's.
Make money. Good Luck

Yep, very true. I didn't bother to mention it since the OP said "football design" and didn't reference using NFL logos. And for what it's worth, permission would have to come from the league in the form of a licensing agreement, not from the individual team.
I have the city permits and taxes will be included in the sales price. I will not be using any NFL or team tradmarked designs or logo's. It will be a football themed design.

I'm just trying to make a couple of bucks selling to a devoted group and as one member mentioned above it would be an impluse buy. Perhaps I should reconsider the sell price on some of these items.

Koozie, towel and apron costs run from .70 cent to 1.25 for the items. This does not include the vinyl cost which may add 1.00 to 1.50 per unit depending on the design size. I'll play with the numbers some more.
I have a whole lot of shirts dedicated for drinkers watxhing the games mma/nfl/nba/ etc etc and I give cozzies awaY when buy 2 shirts check here for details. Egoism Brand | Facebook I got a shirt that is also dedicatwed to the nfl everything it TMed with nname and logo
i'm not trying to be an ***, but just for the sake of asking, cause this is something I was thinking of doing eventually...

supposed you are selling outside the stadium with no street vendor permits/licenses (seems like a lot of money and jumping through hoops to get one here, or probably anywhere for that matter)...

i know cops usually have bigger concerns during games so I'm not sure what exactly could happen...especially a one man operation kind of thing...i guess what i'm asking is, realistically whats the worst that could happen? anyone had any experiences?

If you get caught by the cops, they can confiscate your product and haul you to jail. But if they want to be nice, they will just confiscate your product and leave you with a warning.

In addition to the cops, watch out for stadium security. Some times they are on the lookout for unlicensed vendors and merchandise. Teams and stadiums charge vendors a lot of money to legally sell product on the premises. So to protect the integrity of those agreements, they go on the prowl every once in a while to bust the knockoff vendors.
thanks for that response, i forgot about stadium security too, i'm sure they're on the prowl...i know it's always a possibility to get busted by cops for this, but i'm just skeptical that they will actually arrest you for it, unless you're being a real prick or you run into a real prick...

i'm thinking parking lot pre-game, targeting the tailgaters may be the safest way to go...thanks again...
