Hello everyone! I just purchased some fonts from their creators of course, and got it licensed to my name. But I have a problem, they work well in windows, but when I try to install them to mac, it just won't accept it.

both of the authors gave me links on where to download for windows, and where for macs, but, I noticed that they're all .ttf. And I both asked them is it compatible to macs, and they said "yes."

So I was wondering if there was another way of installing ttf font on a mac.

None of the files they provided me are otf. all ttf. which I find weird. I e-mailed them back but they're just so slow in replying. thought I might get a faster reply here. Thanks so much!

ttf fonts are simply true type fonts. There are several ways of installing fonts on a mac. One way is to add them to the base library fonts folder- but there is a better way. Manage them with "Font Book" which comes with OS X. Fonts won't show up on the menu until you activate them using Font Book. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO RESTART AN APPLICATION TO GET THEM TO SHOW UP.

Make a fonts folder in your user folder, drop all the fonts there. Open "font Book" which should be in applications folder. at the bottom of the dialog box that comes up are plus signs. In the middle "Fonts" column, press the "+" sign, navigate to your fonts folder then to the fonts you bought, and select them.

Use font mangers, to preview the fonts, either as a alphabet, or you can type in a word or phrase to see what it wil look like. You can make sets using the left column. It is a font manager, makes more sense when you have thousands of fonts and don't want them all on at once, slowing down your system.

How did you install them? You should use a font manager. The one that comes with Macs is very good. Font Book.
