Fluff and Stuff

What do you use to clean your machine? I've seen spray cleaners, but not sure of what to spray. I get so much fluff that my hook has an afro. I'm gonna start using magna-glides to cut that down.

What on the machine needs to be lubed? I have a PR-600 now and don't want to have to take it to the shop every time I need to do something to it. Hell, what do you use to lube them?

Canned air, white lithium grease, standard sewing machine oil (Tajima is what I have on hand).
With the brush that came with your machine, you would be able to brush away the "fluff and stuff" after removing your bobbin and bobbincase.

The throat plate on top can be removed (see the manual) and the stuff you find underneath can also be removed with the brush.

See the manual for info on wich screws to remove, never take away your hook! this has a specific timing that you can simply not set back yourself!

A drop of oil on the hook will be a good way to start maintaining your machine, sewingmachine oil will do.
I put a drop in the machine every day. If I remember and stitch a lot, I'll do it more than once a day.
We also add Hook Wash to the mix. Works wonders. The website for it is here http://www.hookwash.com/

Won't really make of a difference. The fluff is more from what you are embroidering not the bobbin thread.

For the hook area, I just use my breath and blow, or canned air. I also use a small stiff bristled paint brush to get into some areas.

Also, clean under the needle plate.

For the rest of the machine, I just use a damp cloth.

In your manual should be an grease/oiling schedule and a diagram of where to oil and place grease.

Both my Happy and SWF have a diagram in the manual.
