Hi folks! you were so helpful before that I thought I'd come back and see what y'all had to say about a print we are doing.
We do not typically print with water based ink except for a large order we do annually. 2400 shirts.
We've been printing for this business for the past 2 years but as they know it's not our specialty they've ordered light colored shirts and we've printed with dark colors.
This year they ordered navy 100% organic t's. They told us that if we needed to print plastisol to go ahead but they preferred waterbased, so we obliged.
The color we are using is Spring green, however we mixed white in it to make it more opaque.
It does not cover well with 2 passes, of course, so we tried flash drying it and printing a 2nd coat and it seems to be covering wonderfully. We are not curing the prints with the flash dryer but drying them enough to put the 2nd coat on.
Has anyone tried this? My concern is in the overall curing. The shirts we've printed for this company over the past couple of years are holding strong.
Should I anticipate this to be any different?
Would adding discharge prevent us from having to flash dry and print again? (double the work, ya know!)
We've never used discharge ink so that would be another ball game. We do not want to use 2 screens.
Thoughts?
Thank you ahead of time.
