There is a Mighty Press at my school

I decided to make a t shirt. Used some transfer paper with the press for 15 seconds @ 350 degrees

Ended up with (yes i know its dumb)

As you can see, it has that stupid glossy layer.

I'm assuming this shirt below was probably made in a similar way. How do you get rid of that glossy layer?

Also, for the first time washing it, should i do a cold rinse? Aware me on t shirt printing!

Not really. There are plastisol transfers that are made with screen printing. Foil transfers are also made with screen printing, and both kinds are put on the shirts with a heat press!

And why is it "dumb"?

You can try sublimation transfers but the shirt has to be either polyester, very high polyester, or have a polyester coating.

And white or very light.

And for sublimation you have to have sublimation ink and paper. If you use JPSS paper you can repress the image with parchment paper on top of it to give it more of a matte finish than the glossy one too. Also, that gloss comes off in the washer after time. Not sure if it comes off right away or not, but eventually it stops shining.

If you needs better print with shine, use vinyl paper and a good heat press! This is the quit best and simple way to print t-shirts! Even this print is of offset or screen u got good result.
