Hi, we have an MP5 and just updated the firmward. One of ink cartridges shows "old version" instead of "good" or "not found". We can't go any further until this is fixed. Has anyone had this issue with the latest firmware update? It is a new cyan cartridge, our old cartridge has the same message.

Any help would be appreciated.

you have to load the previous main firmware back, then before you change the cartridge again, you can update to the latest firmware, my current white inks did the same think.

Rolled back without issue...
Thanks, I just put the old cartridge back in, installed the old 1.0.1 firmware. Put the new cartridge in, then upgraded to the new 1.0.3 firmware, same issue. Says "Old version". Is that the process you did as well or did I do it differently?

ok. When we did the update, that error was displayed. We then waited for our new cartridge to arrive and just today installed it thinking it would fix the issue, unfortunately it still showed the same error. We now have one cartridge that is pretty much empty and shows the error and also the new cartridge doing the same thing. Any further ideas? Thanks for your input with this, you are quicker than Anajet tech support :) We are in NZ so its only 3pm at the moment, not sure what time it is there.

No problem, its 10:30 PM here.

From what tech support told me was run the cartridge out to the point of changing it while on 1.0.1, then place a new cartridge in and update firmware.

I have not gotten to that point yet, my cartridges at=re fairly new so it may be a while before I can do this.

They say my next replacement set should work without issue, I will call to verify before I change, just to make sure I do it right.

Wierd. We just spent ages on phone with tech support to fix air gaps so havn't re looked at the firmware update. Have emailed them to see if they have any ideas about it.
Did you first try the recommendations that come with the printer's manual on eliminiating the gaps/air in the line?

I'm having all sorts of hell with my MP5 and this is one of them I'm getting the COMM FAIL on three of my ink bays...but then it goes away.....then it comes back....then it goes away. The display also doesnt not respond when we press a button....its delayed by quite a bit. Anajet recommended I revert to the 1.0.3 firmwear but from what I'm reading I should probably take it back to 1.0.1?

Yes we did. Have heard someone else mention about the delay. We went back to 1.0.1 just so we could print. Having said that, we still can't print because our white dampers keep emptying mid print. Still trying to sort that out. So far too much time has been spent on troubleshooting a new machine. Not a happy MP5 owner yet!

We have now updated to the 1.0.3 firmware. Got a new set of ink and completely set up our printer from scratch, including the startup fills (they have changed the instructions now), and we ran the pumps for around a minute after the ink was visible at the printheads. Our lines are all looking WAY better now and we just got a great bright print on a dark T today so heres hoping we can move forward now. We did have one issue with the new firmware, when we ran a printhead clean, it showed "write error" on our cyan cartridge, restarted the printer and it showed "good" again, did another clean, same thing happened. Removed the cartridge and cleaned the contacts and then it seemed fine. Will see tomorrow.

Update: Back to firmware 1.0.1 as our wiper wasn't working. Still didn't work after going back to old firmware so we gave it a push and now it works. Our rep says Anajet are frantically working on fixing the issues we are all having. Hopefully it doesn't take too much longer.

Im actually still on 1.0.1 myself. Have been unsuccessfull getting 1.0.2 or 1.0.3 to work for me. I get the COMM FAIL error for both whites and the black and I get WRITE ERROR for the cyan.

I ended up completely disappointing a customer last weeks with the issues I was having with the yellow haze printing around my image. I sent Anajet the files to over-rule the possibility of a glitch in the RIP software or make it evident the way I drew it in photoshop or saved it was the issue. They were able to print it perfectly and sent me a pic. So its obviously my printer itself. I've pretty much have lost my customers trust and faith that I can deliver when promised which pisses the heck out of me.

Missed another deadline today. Printer was printing beautifully then suddenly started streaking yellow elements in the design with black lines. Then midway thru the print it would quit doing it. That would indicate to me a build up of pressure in th black ink....in fact the black started going back in to the yellow lines that circulates back to the cartridge. No how do you remedy this issue in 1.0.1? There is still hope I can make this customer happy if I deliver tomorrow.

Anyone with 1.0.1 remedy? Im all ears. Anyone thats managed with Anajet's help to crack the COMM FAIL issue I'm all ears as well.

I know they have a 1.0.3 update but without the cartridge chip reader enabled. Our rep had it for his MP10 and was going to get it for our MP5 but I said we'll stay on 1.0.1 until we know the update actually works! I understand your frustration disappointing your customer, its never a good thing. We havn't even started advertising ours yet as we are not confident we can produce quality products consistently and in a certain timeframe. That has to change very quickly to make it worth while.
