Finding A Sales Rep!

3097 Views 11 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Comin'OutSwingin
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find a sales rep and/or distributor for a new line such as ours? Are sales reps hesitant to take on young independent companies?

I would appreciate any help in this area.

Thanks!

Thanks Rodney! RepHunter charges for their service I understand...

Yes, RepHunter charges a nice fee!

But, in the thread Rodney linked to, I also give a low-cost "grunt work" method for finding them.

I have contacted several using the "grunt work" method, and am in talks with them!

I'll read your thread for sure... I have nothing against hard work!

Good luck with your "talks"!

Hi Jim, had a look at your stuff. Not bad.

If you want, it's a good idea to set up a web page just for peeps who you want to represent you to look at and get product specs, etc. Sorta like a price/product list with photos. Keep it out of reach on your site from consimmers and make it available for any rep searching project... etc. This way they can get a quick view and info, nothing fancy. :D

when you do finally contact a sales rep company or individual, what do you need? If they are in another city, do you just email them photos/prices?
Yeah, that's pretty much it.

My sales rep is in CA and I'm in TN, but it works great.
